      Event Description:

Sacramento Area Chapter of ACLU hosts Assemblymember Kevin McCarty for a Community Housing Forum

The State of California is currently experiencing a housing crisis. To address this community epidemic, the ACLU Sacramento chapter will be hosting a Sacramento Housing Forum. The event will focus on the current state of laws and proposed solutions that will be taking place in 2020 and beyond and how these laws overlap and affect residents. The event will also feature community partners including a housing coalition of city residents, labor groups and housing activists who have been on the front lines of the housing crisis to educate and amplify aspects of the law and how to access present and future services. Community partners will be on hand tabling onsite to offer additional information and resources.

      Additional planned speakers include:

      Veronica Beauty, Sacramento Housing Alliance
Jonah Paul, Democratic Socialists of America
      Louis Mirante, California YIMBY
      Barbara Schihl, California YIMBY

      Food will be served
