Thanks for signing up to host a People Power Action Event – it’s really easy and you’re going to have a great time! In a few minutes you’ll receive an email with a comprehensive guide for planning your event and screening the ACLU’s Resistance Training livestream on March 11. You’ll also get an invitation to join an upcoming People Power Action Event Host training call. We’ll even have a volunteer organizer call you before your event to help you prepare.

The next step is to post your event on our online events map by completing the form on this page. Once you fill out the form to create your event, we’ll review and approve your event, then begin recruiting other People Power activists to attend. Here are the basic requirements for event hosts:

You will host the event at a venue that has an internet connection (direct line or WiFi) and a screen. This could be an iPad, laptop, computer monitor, TV or movie screen depending on how many people are attending.

You will screen the Resistance Training livestream at your event from 5:00-6:00pm ET/2:00-3:00pm PT and start your event at 4:30pm ET/1:30pm PT.

Here are the rules for hosting events:

You will review the host guidelines and be prepared for your event.

You will start and end on time.

You will print sign-in sheets and other materials.

You will follow the event agenda.

You will be respectful toward your event guests.

You acknowledge that you may speak on behalf of yourself and your community, but not on behalf of the ACLU.
