Nebraska Day of Action RSVP

Thank you for joining us for the day of canvassing in Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska for a ballot initiative that, if passed, would reduce the amount that payday lenders may charge to a maximum annual interest rate of 36%. Currently, payday lenders in Nebraska can charge predatory rates with an average percentage rate of 404% and in some cases as high as 461%.

In an effort to provide more visibility and connect folks from across the state to this important campaign, we’re excited to invite talented volunteers from across the state and staff together to execute this program. During our day of canvassing, we will educate Nebraskans on the payday lending ballot initiative and collect signatures in support of the ballot. Volunteers will have the opportunity to canvass with us throughout the day and then conclude the day with a volunteer appreciation dinner.

Do you have any dietary restrictions? Most meals will be provided by ACLU National. You will likely have 2-3 meals that you will need to pay for and then get reimbursed by the affiliate.
